Community Association Law
Making Positive Change One HOA At A Time
Community association law is really a people’s law. Since Richards Law, PC, was established in 2005, our mission has been to find the perfect balance between board authority and homeowner rights.
Our vision is for HOA life to be enjoyable and for property values to increase. Always with that in mind, our attorneys work to promote an overall higher quality of life in communities throughout Utah.
What We Do
General counsel: We provide general counsel services for hundreds of associations and condominiums throughout Utah.
CC&Rs & bylaws: We draft, rewrite, review and record CC&Rs, bylaws, rules, regulations and other governing documents to ensure that communities are up to date with Utah law.
Amendments: We update associations’ governing documents through amendments. We also draft board resolutions for policies that do not need to be recorded.
Enforcement: We help associations enforce their governing documents with letters, settlement, mediation, arbitration or lawsuits if necessary.
Civil litigation: We have an experienced team of litigators practicing in all state courts and the Utah Supreme Court.
Collections: We pride ourselves in our association collection process. If you have delinquent owners, we can help you collect the money that is owed to your association.
Real Estate Purchase and Sales Transactions: We assist clients in matters ranging from municipal approvals to consumer sales transactions.
General Business Set-Up and Governance: We advise Boards of Directors in matters relating to corporate decision making.
Wills and Trusts: We assist clients with non-taxable estate planning and living wills.
Real Property Boundary and Easement Disputes: We help clients protect and claim property rights relating to neighboring properties.
